Marshall S. Johnson has been named advertising director of the Telegraph Herald, effective Monday, June 15, 2009.
Johnson, previously advertising director of The Forum, Fargo, N.D., reports to Jim Normandin, TH publisher and vice president-newspapers for parent company Woodward Communications Inc.
He will be responsible for all advertising operations of the Telegraph Herald.
Johnson has nearly 20 years of newspaper advertising sales and management experience in the Upper Midwest and West. Before his three years in Fargo, he held a variety of positions with the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, Great Falls (Mont.) Tribune and the Billings (Mont.) Gazette.
"Marshall possesses a wide breadth of marketing experience and successful qualities that our advertising team and clients can benefit from in this highly competitive climate," Normandin said. "We are fortunate to have this opportunity for him to join our team."
Johnson, a native of Bismarck, N.D., earned a bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University. Johnson and his wife, Pat, are the parents of two sons.
